in the meeting room at the Tantallon Library. Guests are always welcome to attend our meetings!

Policy on Donations by SMBGC to other organizations

Occasionally the Executive is approached by a charitable organization to make a donation on behalf of the SMBGC to one of many worthy causes in our large catchment area. Historically, the SMBGC has provided an opportunity for its members to donate to the St. Margaret's Bay Food Bank, by bringing non-perishable food items or a small cash donation to one of our eight yearly meetings. The Food Bank provides a volunteer to collect and deliver the donations. Over time, as funds allow and our Membership agrees, we have - and may again - develop one or more programs through which we make a specific donation to our local library, a local school, a student scholarship or other cause. Therefore, we will not be donating to other charitable causes at this time. This policy is based on the administrative and financial burden of responding to many potential donation requests.
